Dr. Monique Rodriguez, D.AC, Dipl. Ac. is a board-certified and licensed acupuncture physician at Five Element Wellness Center in Coral Springs and Weston, Florida.
Dr. Rodriguez graduated from PCHS (Pacific College of Health & Science) in San Diego with her Doctorate. She also graduated in the Academy of Five Element Acupuncture in Gainesville, Florida, with her degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
Dr. Rodriguez holds a Diplomate Certification in Acupuncture from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), a Florida state license, and is a Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist. She also holds a certification in injection therapy. She specializes in treatment of pain, nerve damage, fertility issues & weight loss (patent pending).
Dr. Rodriguez began her career in health care as an emergency medical technician and discovered acupuncture while attempting to overcome a genetic blood disorder. Western medicine kept her alive during flares of the disease, but often with too many ill side effects. When Dr. Rodriguez tried acupuncture, she was surprised to find out the effectiveness of the treatments and her perspective changed. The personal experience caused her to switch her career focus from Western to Eastern medicine. Dr. Rodriguez’s work comes from a deep desire to help her patients overcome physical as well as emotional challenges to improve their health and well-being and live their lives pain-free.
Dr. Rodriguez’s philosophical approach to treatment includes patient education, lifestyle changes, and herbal medicine. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and is very comfortable within both Western and Eastern medical paradigms. Dr. Rodriguez strongly believes in integrative medicine and works with Western medical doctors to ensure that each patient receives complete care and has the best opportunity for healing. Her focus has been on treating chronic pain, sports injuries, infertility, and neurological disorders.
Dr. Rodriguez is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has called South Florida home for over 32 years. She is also a wife, an ex-cheer mom to her 25-year-old, present lacrosse mom to her 21 and 17-year-old and future soccer mom to her 5-year-old. When away from the clinics, she enjoys spending time with the family or passionately planning her next trip.
